Job Summary

The Engineer / Section Head will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) site works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with Construction Foremen, Site Supervisors and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the project. This position is suitable for Graduate Engineers to experiend Civil Engineers seeking practicial exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects in Malaysia. The project site is located at the border between the states of Penang and Perak.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to technical matters at job site by developing solutions through application of engineering concepts, practices and techniques.
• Plan work activities and resource allocation in accordance with the work programme to ensure timely progress.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the immediate superior.
• Monitor and supervise daily construction progress, including sub-contractor works and report progress to the respective Line Manager.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks under the guidance of superiors.
• Coordinate closey with stakeholders, including consultant, contractors, surveyors, operations teams and commercial teams to provide updates and address issues.
• Resolve discrepancies and detailing issues related to construction works in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare and support the review all required documentation prior to the commencement of site works including:

• 1. Method statements
  2. Material submission for consultant approval prior to site usage
  3. Preliminary drawings and shop drawings prior to issuance of detailed drawings by the consultant
  4. Permit to work from internal parties such as Safety, QAQC and Environmental
  5. Liaise with Design and Technical Department to obtain drawings for construction

• Assist and coordinate with approval authorities to secure permits from local authorities or third parties.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Skills & Abilities

• Familiarity and able to use with engineering software (AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project).
• Knowledge of civil construction work including earthwork, reinforced concrete structures, pipeline installation and WTP fit-out works.
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Technical curiosity and eagerness to learn.

• Willingness to travel and be based at project sites in Malaysia.

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

Fresh graduates or candidates with one to ten years or experience in civil engineering projects are encouraged to apply
