About the role
We are seeking a proactive and engaging Training Advisor to support workforce capability and training outcomes on the Sydney Metro – Stations Package West project. Working closely with project teams, supply chain partners, and external stakeholders, you will coordinate and deliver key training programs across the project.
You will play a central role in workforce mobilisation and capability development, driving initiatives that enhance performance, safety, and long-term talent growth. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is passionate about developing people and supporting meaningful career pathways.
Specific activities will include:
- Coordinate and deliver project training programs, including pre-employment, STEM, and Cultural Awareness initiatives
- Work closely with supply chain partners to identify employment opportunities for pre-employment participants and coordinate attendance at training programs
- Collaborate with education providers and government agencies (including Regional Industry Education Partnerships), registered training organisations and group training organisations, to deliver STEM programs and early talent initiatives linked to the project
- Support workforce mobilisation through the coordination and delivery of project inductions for all employees and subcontractors
- Oversee the successful rollout and ongoing management of site inductions
- Maintain and support Competency Management Systems, including troubleshooting hardware or system-related issues on site
- Partner with site teams to identify training needs and support capability development across the workforce
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of project training materials, processes, and systems
- Track and report on training participation, compliance, and outcomes across the project
- Promote a strong learning culture on site, aligned with project objectives and community commitments
Your skills and experience
- Relevant qualifications in Training & Assessment, Human Resources, or a related discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Training & Assessment highly regarded)
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, or a similar project-based environment (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience coordinating training programs, inductions, or workforce development initiatives on large-scale projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including developing relationships with stakeholders such as (but not limited to) registered training organisations and group training organisations, with the ability to work across site teams, subcontractors, and external organisations
- Experience working with education providers, government programs, or community engagement initiatives (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic site environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
