About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Sustainability Advisor / Senior Advisor to support the implementation of Gamuda Australia’s Seeds for Growth strategy and Sustainability Management System across projects and corporate functions. This role assists in meeting environmental and sustainability legislation, contractual obligations, and third-party verifications such as Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) and Green Star.

 

The Advisor collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to embed sustainability into project planning, procurement, and delivery. You will provide subject matter input, support innovation, and help build a sustainability-focused culture across the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of Gamuda’s Seeds for Growth strategy across tenders and projects.
  • Contribute to sustainability planning and documentation for bids, design phases, and delivery.
  • Support the preparation of sustainability-related returnable schedules and deliverables for EOIs, RFPs, and ECIs.
  • Assist in analysing and interpreting client-specific sustainability and ESG requirements for inclusion in submissions.
  • Manage and engage with sustainability consultants or subconsultants to provide technical input into bids.
  • Assist in coordinating third-party certification processes (e.g. ISC and Green Star), including evidence collection and audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with internal project teams to embed sustainability into procurement, construction, and operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management).
  • 3–6 years’ experience in a sustainability-focused role or a strong professional background in a related technical field (e.g. engineering, design, planning, procurement, commercial) with a recent transition (or desire to) into sustainability.
  • Experience contributing to sustainability initiatives in infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with third-party certification systems such as ISC, Green Star, LEED, BREEAM, or equivalent is highly desirable.
