About the role
As the Senior Contract Administrator, you’ll oversee contract administration, assess and negotiate variations, monitor commercial performance, and ensure all contractual requirements are met in line with project, client and organisational standards. You will drive strong commercial outcomes by managing risk, maintaining accurate reporting, and supporting the project team with clear, informed commercial advice.
Specific activities will include:
- Lead end-to-end contract administration across upstream and downstream activities, including negotiations, risk assessments, settlements and claims management.
- Oversee the administration of a diverse range of subcontracts, including payment claims, variations, contractual notices and dispute resolution.
- Mitigate commercial and financial risk by ensuring contracts are accurately drafted, compliant and strategically negotiated.
- Proactively resolve contract issues, manage conflicting requirements and provide clear, timely reporting to senior management.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in pre-contracts and commercial management on major infrastructure projects; Sydney Water experience highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts, procurement frameworks and commercial law; experience with NEC4 contracts is advantageous.
- Proven ability to negotiate contract terms and manage complex procurement packages.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project finance systems, and document management systems.
