In Australia, our footprint continues to grow through major transport and infrastructure projects across Sydney and regional NSW, including Sydney Metro – Stations Package West, the Parramatta Integrated Station Development, the Richmond Road Upgrade, and the Elizabeth Drive Upgrade & Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 2.

We are committed to attracting world-class talent and fostering an innovative culture that positions Gamuda as an employer of choice in the Australian infrastructure industry.

About the role

As Project Controls Manager on the Parramatta ISD project, you’ll play a key hands-on role leading our project controls across planning, cost, and risk.

Working closely with project leadership, site teams, joint venture partners, and Sydney Metro, you’ll bring solid practical experience to the project - getting into the detail of the programme, sense-checking cost forecasts and driving real risk mitigation.

Specific activities will include:

  • Lead the integrated project controls function across planning, cost, risk, reporting and forecasting.
  • Establish and maintain project controls systems, processes and reporting frameworks.
  • Manage project baselines, budgets, schedules and forecasts, ensuring performance is tracked against approved targets.
  • Provide integrated analysis of cost, schedule, risk and progress to identify trends, issues and opportunities.
  • Lead the monthly project controls cycle, including progress reporting, forecasting, cost-to-complete and schedule updates.
  • Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Engineering, Construction and Project Leadership teams to ensure accurate and consistent project information.
  • Identify emerging risks and performance issues and provide clear recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Support change management and assess the cost and schedule impacts of project changes.
  • Prepare high-quality reporting and dashboards for Project Leadership, senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the project controls team and drive continuous improvement across project controls processes.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ project controls experience within major civil, rail, station, or heavy infrastructure projects, with recent contractor-side delivery experience highly regarded.
  • Strong technical background developed through hands-on planning, scheduling, or cost engineering roles, retaining practical depth across controls disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to directly interrogate Primavera P6 schedules, critical path logic, float, Earned Value Management (EVM), and cost-to-complete models.
  • Practical approach to risk management, contract change control, delay analysis methodologies, and contractor commercial governance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the confidence to challenge technical leads, interrogate project data, and advise project directors.
