Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects.
As part of Gamuda’s commitment to expansion, Gamuda Engineering has established offices in Sydney and Melbourne to pursue and deliver a variety of construction projects. We are currently delivering the $2.16B Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package and have also commenced in joint venture both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and the $1bn M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package. 
We have also been shortlisted for several major transport infrastructure projects in Melbourne and are pursuing other significant opportunities in the infrastructure and energy sectors across Victoria and Queensland.

 

The Role

 

Reporting to our Head of HR this role will have a national focus and work across the various construction sectors we operate in including Civil, Tunnelling and Energy projects. You will work closely with our construction operations to formulate our Industrial Relations strategy and provide expert advice to our tender and project delivery teams to ensure compliant and harmonious workplace relations across our operations. This will include:
•    Leading the negotiation and submission of project and regional Enterprise Agreements.
•    Developing policies, procedures and training aligned with IR management practices and prevailing legislation.
•    Providing expert IR advice to senior management and project delivery teams. 
•    Undertaking pre-contract award assessment and compliance audits of subcontractors and supply chain.
•    Completion of IR Management Plans as a part of precontracts activities 
•    Providing guidance to project teams on industrial relations and grievance / performance management. 
•    Remaining up-to-date with legislative requirements and changes and implementing IR management and business practice change as necessary.


Your skills & experience

 

Ideally you will have significant experience in Industrial and Workplace Relations in construction, resources or manufacturing supported by tertiary qualifications in the field. Specific skills and experience will ideally include:
•    Leading negotiation and finalisation of Enterprise Agreements including submissions to the Fair Work Commission. 
•    Successfully practicing industrial relations within the infrastructure, building, manufacturing or related industries.
•    Demonstrated experience managing relationships with Union leadership and delegates.
•    An ability to build effective relationships with leadership within the business.
