Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects. We are currently delivering the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package, Sydney Metro – Stations Package West and in joint venture partnerships for both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and the $1B M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package.

About the role

We are seeking an influential HR Business Partner to support the delivery of both strategic and operational HR outcomes across our corporate functions. Based in our head office, this role will partner closely with senior leaders to provide expert HR advice, drive workforce planning, and lead people initiatives that support business performance and growth.

You will play a key role in shaping organisational structure, supporting business planning activities, and driving best-practice people processes across the full employee lifecycle, while building strong relationships and influencing outcomes at a leadership level.

Specific activities will include:

  • Partner with leaders to provide proactive, practical HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Lead and support workforce planning activities across multiple projects and corporate functions.
  • Support tenders and bids, including input on workforce plan, organisation structure, DEI actions, and resourcing strategies.
  • Provide HR support to projects without on-site HR, acting as the key point of contact for all people-related matters.
  • Support project mobilisation and demobilisation, including onboarding, offboarding, and transition planning.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, employee relations, and people issues.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
  • Support and deliver remuneration reviews, salary benchmarking, and reward practices.
  • Assist in building and evolving corporate and project organisational structures aligned to business needs.
  • Develop, implement, and contribute to continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, systems and reporting.
  • Support learning and development initiatives to enhance capability across the workforce.
  • Collaborate with international teams (including Malaysia) on global mobility.

 

Your skills and experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, or a similar environment (highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting bids/tenders and project mobilisation activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Proven ability to manage employee relations and complex people issues.
  • Experience across the full HR lifecycle, including remuneration and performance reviews.
  • A collaborative, influential style with the ability to coach leaders, build trusted relationships, and manage multiple stakeholders across locations.
