Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects. We are currently delivering the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package, Sydney Metro – Stations Package West and in joint venture partnerships for both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and the $1B M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package.

About the role

Gamuda is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Lead to join our Sydney Metro Stations Package West project. In this role, you will lead a team delivering strategic and operational HR support across the project, including Talent Acquisition, Workforce Development, Training, and Workplace Relations. You will work closely with project leadership to ensure our workforce is engaged, capable, and aligned with project objectives.

Specific Activities will include:

  • Develop and implement strategic HR plans, policies, and practices that align with the needs of the project and support organisational objectives.
  • Partner with project leaders to identify and develop people capabilities, project structures, and behaviours that drive performance.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Workplace Relations Management Plan, addressing any employee and industrial relations matters proactively.
  • Provide expert guidance to project leaders on performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Drive workforce development programs, including training, upskilling, and leadership development aligned with project requirements.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting a safe, equitable, and high-performing workplace.
  • Build strong relationships with a multi-disciplinary leadership team, providing coaching and advice to influence positive workforce outcomes.

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, with significant experience leading HR teams, ideally in construction, engineering, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation, and experience developing and implementing best practice HR policies and processes.
  • Proven ability to deliver workforce development, talent management, and diversity initiatives in a complex project environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with senior leadership teams, influencing outcomes through coaching, guidance, and collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive HR and industrial relations matters effectively.
