About the Role:
Responsible for leading the finance team and providing high level financial analysis, reporting and advice to support the Company in the achievement of its’ strategic and financial goals. The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for large-scale infrastructure construction projects. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring that financial objectives align with project timelines and contract requirements. You will play a key role in managing cash flow, cost control, and profitability, while working closely with project managers and the senior commercial team to monitor project expenses and mitigate financial risks.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead financial analysis and creation of reports as requested by BU leaders to support operation and national function to help drive organisations efficiency.

Oversee and provide input into the financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans, budget forecasting, contingency, and benefits management.

Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business unit, including month-end reporting, recharges and accounts payable activities are timely, accurate and within budget.

Responsible for interpreting and managing management reports and schedules, financial analyses, and performance reporting.

Ensure compliance with recognised financial standards, regulatory and legal requirements and national finance policies in all areas of responsibility.

Prepare detailed budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections, ensuring alignment with project timelines and contractual obligations.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification preferred).

A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 5 years in a senior position within the construction or transport construction infrastructure sector.

Strong experience in project finance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a tier-one contractor environment.

In-depth knowledge of financial management in large infrastructure projects, including cost control, risk management, and compliance.

Proficient in financial modelling and reporting tools (e.g., MS Excel, ERP, SAP systems).

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.

Job Summary
Oversees the Finance Department, inclusive of Financial and Management Accounting, Sales & Administration and Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial/Management Accounting
- Responsible and ensuring proper implementation of computerised accounting, full set of accounting books and costing records in accordance to the Group’s accounting manual, statutory requirements and standards accounting conventions.
2. Operational System
- Recommend to Management and set up the institution and implementation of accounting, internal controls and other administrative policies so as to improve the management information system, reporting standard and expenditure controls of the various departments in the Company.
3. Budget
- Coordinate and prepare annual Budget and Business Plan and to monitor and highlight the Company’s performance through a system of budgetary control.
4. Costing
- Monitor projects development costs to ensure all costs are within control through regular review of project costing and feasibility study. Highlight to Management on costs variance.
5. Treasury
- Review the financial position of the Company regularly. Monitor daily cash flow requirements of the company and recommend necessary actions to Management.
6. Taxation
- Ensure corporate tax computations and GST computations of the Company are prepared for submission to Inland Revenue and Royal Malaysian Customs respectively in accordance to Statutory requirement.
7. Sales Administration / Credit Control
- Implement and ensure compliance of Sales Admin procedure and Group Credit Control policies, trades within approved terms through close monitoring of billing and collection.
8. Information Technology
- Ensure IT infrastructure, hardware and software are adequately provided for Company to carry out its trade and staff to carry out his/her duties. Supervise the coordination of supports and services, and ensure smooth daily operation of IT system.
- To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
- Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications
- Degree or Professional in Accounting.
- Member of MIA.
