Job Description: 

Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects.

As part of Gamuda’s commitment to expansion, Gamuda Engineering has established offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to pursue and deliver a variety of engineering and construction projects.

We have recently commenced construction on a significant Sydney Water pipeline re-instatement project in Sydney’s northern suburbs and are tendering a range of other water infrastructure projects across the east coast. 


The Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager with experience working on major infrastructure projects ideally with water and utilities projects exposure. Working closely with our Engineering, Construction and Community Engagement team you will lead Environmental Planning, Approvals and Environmental Site Operations and Reporting ensuring environmental and sustainability objectives are met across the project.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead project environmental planning and approvals ensuring works are compliant and also on program.
  • Ensure Environmental Managements Plans, Monitoring Programs and Reporting are implemented and effective in supporting project outcomes.
  • Provide environmental operational and regulatory advice to engineering, construction and commercial teams.
  • Pro-actively manage project environmental risks, conduct regular audits and develop operational improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of strong client relationships.
  • Develop relationships with key consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.


Your skills & experience

 

You will have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or similar along with experience leading teams in the delivery of infrastructure projects. Specific experience will include:

  • Demonstrated Environmental Operational Management experience on significant infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulation and legislation, approvals and planning and its application in an engineering and construction environment.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
