About the Role
Based on-site in Parramatta, we are seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead environmental compliance and sustainability performance on the Parramatta ISD / SPW project. Reporting to project leadership, you will oversee site environmental controls, regulatory compliance, carbon reduction initiatives, and Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) rating outcomes across active urban work fronts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead project EMPs, sustainability frameworks, and ISO 14001 compliance in line with NSW legislation and Sydney Metro standards.
• Drive the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) rating process, tracking credits and data verification to achieve benchmark project ratings.
• Oversee site monitoring and controls for erosion/sedimentation (ERSED), noise, vibration, air quality, water discharge, and unexpected contamination finds.
• Serve as primary liaison with Sydney Metro, TfNSW, EPA NSW, and local councils for statutory planning approvals and licensing.
• Drive carbon reduction, waste diversion, and water/energy efficiency initiatives while leading compliance audits, incident investigations, and reporting.
Skills and Experience:
• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline.
• 8+ years leading environment and sustainability functions on major civil, rail, station, or urban infrastructure projects (NSW/Sydney Metro experience preferred).
• Demonstrated experience implementing Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) rating schemes and sustainability reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of NSW environmental planning legislation (EP&A Act), EPA regulations, ERSED management, and waste classification.
