About the role
As Development Manager, you will oversee the development of solar, wind, and energy storage projects from early concept through to financial close. You will coordinate feasibility assessments, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required standards. This is an opportunity to work on exciting renewable energy projects in a collaborative and growing team.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including origination, due diligence, feasibility assessment, and development to financial close.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure high quality and timely project outcomes.
- Manage the securing of land agreements, development approvals, key commercial agreements, including land leases, OEM and EPC contracts.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, schedules, and risks, ensuring milestones are delivered to scope and standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, regulators, landowners, community stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Support the securing of PPA’s and the financing process.
- Provide input into grid connection processes and support investment valuations, site selection, and early-stage acquisition analysis.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance, quality assurance, and professional development support.
Skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience delivering renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS) through multiple development stages.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project assessment, and due diligence processes.
- Experience coordinating teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
- Willingness to undertake domestic travel as required to support project development and stakeholder engagement.
