The Project:
The NSW Government has appointed Gamuda Engineering to deliver the Sydney Metro Station Package West, a critical component of Sydney Metro. The Sydney Metro Stations Package West includes the design and construction of five new metro stations along the Sydney Metro West alignment: Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, and The Bays. Delivered as part of the 24-kilometre Sydney Metro West line connecting Greater Parramatta to Sydney’s CBD, the package scope will include the construction of station boxes, entrances and access points, station fit-out works and integration with surrounding precincts.
The Roles:
Gamuda Engineering Australia is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced Design Coordinator professionals for opportunities on the Sydney Metro Station Package West.
- Civil Design Coordinators
- Structural Design Coordinators
Gamuda will act as the Principal Contractor for the project. Laing O’Rourke and DT Infrastructure will join the delivery team, named MetroVista, as delivery partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate civil and structural design activities across multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of large-scale infrastructure construction projects.
- Act as the key interface between design consultants, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Review design documentation to ensure constructability, compliance with project specifications, and alignment with project delivery requirements.
- Facilitate design coordination meetings with consultants and internal project teams to resolve technical issues and design clashes.
- Ensure design outputs comply with project standards, engineering specifications, and relevant regulatory and government authority requirements.
- Work closely with BIM and digital engineering teams to coordinate design models and manage interface risks.
- Ensure integration of civil, structural, architectural, and services design elements across major infrastructure works such as rail, stations, tunnels, and large civil structures.
