About the role
As a Contracts Administrator, you will support the effective administration of project contracts, assist with the assessment and negotiation of variations, monitor commercial performance, and ensure contractual requirements are met in line with project, client and organisational standards. You will contribute to positive commercial outcomes by supporting risk management, maintaining accurate reporting, and providing clear commercial support to the project team.
Specific activities will include:
- Assist with end-to-end contract administration across upstream and downstream activities, including negotiations, risk assessments, settlements and claims.
- Administer a range of subcontracts, including payment claims, variations, contractual notices and supporting dispute resolution processes.
- Support the identification and mitigation of commercial and financial risks by ensuring contracts are accurately administered and compliant.
- Assist in resolving contract issues, managing competing requirements, and preparing clear, timely reports for project and senior team members.
Your skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 - 6 years’ experience in pre-contracts and commercial management on construction or infrastructure projects; Sydney Water experience highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of Australian construction contracts, procurement frameworks and commercial principles; exposure to NEC4 contracts is advantageous.
- Experience supporting contract negotiations and managing procurement packages under guidance.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project finance systems and document management systems.
