The Role

Based on our Sydney Metro – Stations Package West project, you will play a key role in supporting community and stakeholder engagement capability, as well as the public affairs capability. As a Community & Stakeholder Coordinator, you will assist in executing comprehensive engagement strategies, fostering positive community relations, and mitigating potential disruptions to local residents, businesses and other key stakeholders. You will collaborate extensively with our environmental and construction delivery teams to ensure all community interactions meet project standards and facilitate best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the implementation of community and stakeholder engagement strategies and management plans.
  • Preparing and distributing high-quality communication materials such as letters, emails, notifications, and newsletters.
  • Supporting our Community Place Managers with maintaining meaningful relationships with local residents, property owners, andstakeholders through proactive outreach.
  • Handling incoming public queries and complaints effectively, ensuring accurate documentation, tracking, and timely resolution in accordance with project and client guidelines.
  • Maintaining stakeholder contact lists, consultation registers, and communication logs to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Coordinating internal communication initiatives to support a cohesive and positive team culture.
  • Assisting in the delivery of Public Affairs tasks including writing and reviewing content for various channels.

Your Skills & Experience

You are a proactive, resilient professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment, takes responsibility, and can work collaboratively within a team.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar community engagement or coordination capacity within the infrastructure, engineering, or civil construction sectors.
  • Practical project experience driving community and stakeholder relations outcomes on urban infrastructure or major civil works.
  • Familiarity with community impacts associated with major civil works, particularly transport, rail, tunnelling, or roadworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities to influence diverse groups and work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and administration/records management systems.
