We have recently commenced construction on a significant Sydney Water pipeline re-instatement project in Sydney’s northern suburbs and are tendering a range of other water infrastructure projects across the east coast.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Community & Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to support the successful delivery of our RP03 Sydney Water pipeline project. In this important role, you will be instrumental in executing comprehensive engagement strategies, fostering positive community relations, and mitigating potential disruptions to local residents. You will collaborate extensively with our engineering design and construction delivery teams to ensure all community interactions meet project standards and facilitate best practice in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the implementation of community and stakeholder engagement strategies and management plans.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks related to public and stakeholder impacts.
• Prepare and distribute high-quality communication materials such as letters, emails, and newsletters
• Build and nurture meaningful relationships with local residents, property owners, and institutional stakeholders along the project route through proactive outreach.
• Handle incoming public queries and grievances effectively, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution in accordance with project guidelines.
• Partner closely with site construction teams to guarantee that community commitments are upheld and integrated into daily operations.
• Drive internal communication initiatives to support a cohesive and positive team culture.
Your skills & experience
You will possess a relevant tertiary qualification such as Communications or Public Relations coupled with proven experience in a similar engagement capacity within the infrastructure, engineering, or civil construction sectors.
Your specific skills and experience will include:
• Practical project experience driving community & stakeholder relations outcomes on urban infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with the specific community impacts associated with major civil works, particularly water infrastructure or roadworks.
• A track record of resolving complex issues, public grievances, and conflicts with tact, professionalism, and sound judgement.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities to influence diverse groups and work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
