About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Digital Engineering/BIM Coordinator to join our project Digital Engineering team in Sydney.

This role will support the coordination and delivery of Digital Engineering activities across a major multidisciplinary infrastructure project. Working closely with the Digital Engineering Manager, Design Managers, designers, construction teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders, you will support model coordination, information management, design delivery and the implementation of project Digital Engineering requirements.

This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to work across multidisciplinary design coordination, digital delivery and emerging Digital Engineering technologies on a major infrastructure project.

What you will do

  • Support the Digital Engineering Manager in implementing project DE strategies, requirements, standards and workflows.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design models across architectural, structural, civil, building services and other project disciplines.
  • Undertake model federation, model reviews, clash detection and coordination activities, assessing models for quality, compliance and readiness for project submissions.
  • Identify and communicate model coordination and interface issues and work with relevant designers, Design Managers and project stakeholders to support their resolution.
  • Support and facilitate multidisciplinary model coordination and clash resolution workshops.
  • Track Digital Engineering actions and coordination issues and proactively follow them through to closure.
  • Support the management and coordination of project information within platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Revizto and other project systems.
  • Support model-based quantities, visualisation, 4D, asset information and other Digital Engineering activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Digital Engineering team, sharing knowledge and supporting consistent ways of working across the project.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate and standardise Digital Engineering processes and workflows.
  • Investigate technical and coordination issues, develop potential solutions and provide recommendations to the Digital Engineering Manager and project team.
  • Identify and escalate significant Digital Engineering, coordination, quality or delivery risks where required.
  • Support the adoption of new Digital Engineering technologies and innovative approaches that improve project delivery.

 

What we are looking for

You will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Digital Engineering, BIM coordination, design coordination or a related role, preferably within major infrastructure or other complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • A relevant qualification in engineering, architecture, construction, BIM/Digital Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary design models across architectural, structural, civil and building services disciplines.
  • Strong practical experience in model federation, clash detection, model review and BIM QA/QC.
  • Proficiency in Revizto, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), with a working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, 12d, Civil 3D and other relevant design authoring software.
  • A good understanding of ISO 19650, CDE workflows, model coordination, shared coordinates and information management principles.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, engineers, Design Managers, construction teams and subcontractors.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, progress actions through to closure and use initiative within the wider project delivery framework.
  • Experience with Dynamo, Power BI, Python, automation or other Digital Engineering technologies would be advantageous but is not essential.
