Job Summary
The Supervisor – Marine, Engineering is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing all on-site marine engineering activities, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of marine systems and equipment. This pivotal role requires a strong blend of advanced technical marine engineering knowledge, practical leadership skills, and meticulous attention to safety and compliance. The Supervisor will lead and mentor a team of marine technicians and tradespeople, troubleshoot complex marine engineering issues, optimize workflows, and contribute to overall operational excellence and the achievement of project targets by ensuring all work aligns with engineering designs, maritime regulations, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of marine technicians, tradespeople, and apprentices, assigning daily tasks, managing work schedules, and ensuring optimal productivity and efficient resource utilization.

Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and technical guidance to team members, fostering their skill development and adherence to best practices. Conduct regular performance monitoring and provide constructive feedback to direct reports. Foster a positive, collaborative, and disciplined work environment.

Oversee and actively participate in complex installation, maintenance, and repair tasks for various marine systems (e.g., propulsion, power generation, auxiliary machinery, piping, HVAC, deck machinery) on vessels or offshore structures.

Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and technical manuals specific to marine applications.
Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Possession of relevant maritime certifications (e.g., Class 1/2 Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency, STCW certifications) is highly desirable or mandatory depending on the operational context.

Proven experience in marine engineering operations, maintenance, or construction.

Strong knowledge of marine systems, components, tools, and safety practices.
