About the role  

 

As a Project Engineer at DT Infrastructure, you will play a key role in the successful planning, execution and delivery of the Mernda Stabling Yard Upgrade, valued at $17.3k. Reporting to the Project Manager you will provide engineering, technical, quality and commercial support to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification. 

 

You will be working closely with project and site teams to manage daytoday engineering activities, coordinate subcontractors, oversee quality outcomes and contribute to accurate cost control and reporting. 

 

You will be involved across the full project lifecycle from planning and design implementation through to construction delivery, quality assurance, forecasting and client engagement. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to continuous improvement, risk management and value driven outcomes while upholding DTI’s strong safety, quality and sustainability standards. 

 

Experience and Capabilities 

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

  • A Bachelor of Engineering and eligibility for (or membership with) Engineers Australia 
  • Minimum 3 - 5years’ experience in the construction or infrastructure sector, ideally in a site or project engineering role 
  • Strong capability in planning, coordinating and administering construction activities to meet time, cost and quality objectives 
  • Proven experience with cost control, forecasting, progress reporting, subcontractor management and variations 
  • Sound understanding of construction methodologies, temporary works, Australian Standards and contractual requirements 
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, including ITPs, NCRs, RFIs and conformance management 
  • A strong working knowledge of HSE obligations, risk management and legislative compliance 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams 
  • Well developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced project environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in project controls or scheduling tools (Primavera P6 and estimation software desirable)
