Job Summary
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and managing the execution of civil, structural, and architectural works in accordance with approved designs and specifications. This role supports the Construction Manager and team in planning construction activities, resolving site issues, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of works. The engineer also ensures proper documentation, compliance with QMS, and successful coordination with M&E teams and authorities for inspections, testing, and final approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising civil, structural, and architectural construction works in accordance with approved designs and Data Centre project requirements.
- Monitor progress, identify and escalate delays or technical issues, and provide solutions to site problems using sound engineering principles.
- Support the Construction Manager in planning site work sequences and resource needs to meet tight deadlines.
- Coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors, surveyors, and site staff to ensure work is executed as planned.
- Prepare and review method statements, shop drawings, and technical submissions for timely approvals.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation such as RFIs, inspection forms, and daily reports.
- Liaise with M&E teams to ensure smooth integration of embedded items and interface works.
- Assist with compiling As-Built Drawings and documentation to support CCC application.
- Attend site meetings with consultants, authorities, and project stakeholders for progress updates and inspections.
- To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
- Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications
· Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of construction practices for high-specification infrastructure such as data centres.
- Familiarity with design coordination and technical drawing reviews.
- Experience working under fast-track schedules and in high-compliance environments.
- Good knowledge of QMS and documentation requirements.
- Collaborative and detail-oriented approach to interface coordination (especially with M&E).
- Problem-solving skills for on-site construction challenges.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Able to handle pressure, multitask, and adapt to dynamic site conditions.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
3 years’ experience in construction. Preferably in infrastructure or mission-critical facility construction (e.g., data centres, hospitals, etc.)
