About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Rail to join our National Rail Team, based in Perth and reporting to the EGM - Rail.
The Senior Project Manager - Rail plans and controls the execution of a Contract or number of Contracts and/or Projects in a cost-effective manner, to ensure compliance with the specific project, contract technical program, environmental and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strong operational leadership to ensure all project activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Drive performance across multiple work fronts, ensuring resource allocation, sequencing and work delivery align with client priorities and rail access windows.
- Monitor daily operational performance, proactively identifying emerging risks, delays or issues and implementing timely corrective actions.
- Lead the commercial performance of the contract, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, margin protection and budget adherence.
- Ensure all work activities comply with rail safety legislation, client systems, safe work procedures, permits and access requirements.
- Act as the primary client interface, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring clear, transparent communication.
Experience and capabilities
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Strong experience in developing tender documentation.
- Significant and demonstrable successful experience in a business / project operations management role gained at similar level
- A good understanding of, and experience with, the business challenges impacting upon business in different life cycles (eg expanding, mature, declining or new market)
- Experience in researching, analysing and understanding complex information to develop and implement business solutions
- Working knowledge and understanding of OH&S, Business Management Systems/Standards and employee relations legislation
