About the Project

 

Join our Burrup Seawater Supply Scheme Pump Station and Electrical upgrades project! We're currently looking for an experienced Electrical Senior Project Engineer to join our project delivery team on-site in Karratha, WA. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you'll be accountable for providing expert electrical engineering, technical and quality support across this project to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery electrical works in line with DTI's strategic objectives. 

This role is a full time position where you will be working on a 9:5 (9 days on/5 days off) FIFO Roster. This is a long term position with DTI where you'll have the opportunity to transfer onto recently awarded projects in renewables. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, coordinate, and administer HV, LV, and SCADA electrical engineering works for civil infrastructure projects. 
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, budgets, and project schedules.  
  • Monitor project performance against schedule, budget, and quality requirements, implementing corrective actions as needed.  
  • Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and contractual obligations.  
  • Lead commissioning, testing, and energisation of electrical systems in accordance with project requirements and Australian standards.  
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with statutory requirements, Australian standards, and client specifications.  
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, civil, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless project delivery.  
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, manage expectations, and ensure project objectives are met.  
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, safe energisation procedures, and site-specific SWMS.  

About You

 

Essential

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years electrical engineering experience on industrial, water, or rail infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience delivering HV, LV, and SCADA works.
  • Experience managing subcontractors delivering electrical scopes.
  • Minimum 3 years in project planning, scheduling, and management.
  • Experience in electrical estimating, tender preparation, and contract management.

 

Desirable

  • Experience delivering 33kV systems, including switchgear, transformers, cable installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong background in LV distribution, MCCs, control panels, lighting, and power systems for industrial or marine environments.
  • Experience integrating PLCs, RTUs, and communication networks; SCADA testing, commissioning, and vendor coordination.
