Job Summary

The Senior Planner will support the Planning Manager by leading detailed planning activities related to design, procurement, and manufacturing phases of construction projects. This role involves developing and managing project schedules, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring alignment with overall project timelines. The Senior Planner will also be responsible for preparing detailed reports, analyzing project performance, and contributing to the preparation of extension of time claims when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detailed Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed schedules for design, procurement, and manufacturing phases, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the overall project timeline.
  • Coordination: Work closely with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure that their schedules and deliverables are integrated into the overall project plan.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and monitor the progress of design, procurement, and manufacturing activities, identifying any deviations from the schedule and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed progress reports for the Planning Manager and other stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues. Ensure reports are accurate and timely.
  • Extension of Time Claims: Assist in the preparation of extension of time claims by providing necessary scheduling data, documentation, and analysis to support the claims process.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks and constraints related to design, procurement, and manufacturing phases, and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze project performance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to the Planning Manager for optimizing project schedules.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Site Planning Team and other project team members to ensure seamless integration of all project phases and alignment with the construction schedule.
  • Digital Tools: Utilize project management software and digital tools to maintain and update schedules, track progress, and communicate with project stakeholders effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all planning activities, including changes to schedules, progress reports, and correspondence related to project planning.
  • To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the company
  • Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Qualifications

Degree in Project Management/Relevant Engineering Degree

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex schedules and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in preparing detailed reports and presenting information clearly.
  • Understanding of project management principles, extension of time claims, and risk management.
