Job Summary
A Senior Planning Engineer / Planner is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and monitoring of large-scale of SABAH Water Treatment Plant (Infrastructure / Building / Mechanical & Electrical Plant).
Key Responsibilities
•Project Planning & Scheduling – Develop detsiled project schedules (using tools like Primavera P6 / MS Project) from initiation to completion. Establish milestones, timelines and dependencies to ensure efficient project delivery within contract agreed time.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting – Track project performance against the baseline schedule. Prepare regular progress reports (weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly) to update stakeholders and management. Identify potential delays and propose mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Coordination – Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment. Participate in progress meetings and provide technical support related to scheduling.
• Resource Planning – Forecast and plan resource needs to align with project timelines.
• Compliance & Documentation – Ensure schedules align with contract requirements and industry standards. Maintain documentation for schedule changes, approvals, and justifications.
• Risk Management & Delay Analysis – Perform time impact analysis and prepare Extension of Time (EOT) claims if delays occur. Identify risks and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.
•To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
•Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Qualifications
Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Project Management
Skills & Abilities
•Prior experience in infrastructure, building, or civil works projects is highly preferred.
•Strong experience with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• In-depth knowledge of project management frameworks and construction methodologies.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, critical path analysis (CPM), and resource planning.
•Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent skill with MS Word, MS Excel & MS Power Pont
