The Senior Environmental Advisor position is based at the QTMP Site in Ormeau, Gold Coast. The primary duties will be to promote best-practice environmental systems of work and to ensure a safe workplace is provided for employees. The role is predominantly site-based and will support and report to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation, review and monitoring of environmental management systems, plans, and procedures.

Provide specialist advice to project teams and managers on environmental risks, obligations, and mitigation strategies.

Establish, monitor, and report on environmental KPIs, approvals, and performance measures.

Review and analyse environmental data, producing timely and accurate reports for management and clients.

Ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and all relevant environmental legislation.

Conduct and manage environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.

Ensure the business meets the client's environmental expectations.

Mentoring junior staff and assist in creating an organisational culture of environmental sustainability

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or equivalent and suitable industry experience.

Minimum of five years’ environmental management experience in the civil, rail or construction industry.

Sound knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards applicable to large construction projects in Queensland

 

Desirable:

Nationally recognised Auditor Qualification.

Working knowledge of Erosion sediment control practices and principles applicable to large construction projects
