About Us
Gamuda Engineering is a global contractor delivering major Transport, Civil, and Energy Infrastructure projects across Australia. With corporate offices in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, our footprint is expanding rapidly through flagship clean energy developments - including the Mortlake Hybrid project in Victoria alongside a growing pipeline of utility-scale renewable tenders across Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia.
About the Role
Based in our Melbourne Corporate Office, we are seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join our Pre-Contracts & Clean Energy team. Reporting to the Pre-Contracts & Sustainability Lead, you will drive environmental planning, statutory approvals strategies, and sustainability rating outcomes across our portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS developments and tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead environmental, statutory approvals, and sustainability inputs for major clean energy EOI, RFQ, and RFT submissions.
• Review client tender documentation, EIS/EES frameworks, and statutory conditions to identify environmental risks and value-engineering opportunities.
• Embed sustainability frameworks - including the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) rating tool and carbon reduction targets - into tender designs.
• Write clear, persuasive environmental management plans, risk mitigation strategies, and constructability methodologies for submission schedules.
• Assist in developing project Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), erosion and sediment control (ERSED) strategies, and waste classification protocols.
• Engage and direct specialist environmental and planning consultancies during pre-contracts and tender phases.
Skills and Experience
• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years' experience as an Environmental or Sustainability Advisor in major construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy pre-contracts/tendering.
• Exposure to utility-scale solar PV, wind, BESS, or high-voltage (HV) transmission infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
• Strong working knowledge of Victorian environmental legislation (EPA Victoria, Environment Effects Act, Planning and Environment Act).
• Proven capability in drafting high-quality tender content and translating technical environmental requirements into clear submission material.
What We Offer
• Strategic role shaping landmark national clean energy developments and tender submissions.
• Central Melbourne Corporate Office location with flexible working support.
• Collaborative environment backed by a global Tier-1 contractor with clear career progression pathways.
