About the Role
Based in our Sydney Head Office, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Lead (HV / SCADA) to provide technical engineering leadership across high-voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure, secondary systems, protection, and SCADA/automation scope.
Reporting to engineering leadership, you will lead technical governance from tender/bid stages through to detailed design, procurement, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead technical design management, engineering reviews, and QA for HV substations, switchgear, protection schemes, and SCADA packages.
• Direct technical interfaces between primary HV plant, secondary protection/control systems, SCADA networks, and civil/structural design.
• Partner with bid teams to define electrical scope, review single-line diagrams (SLDs), assess constructability, and drive value engineering.
• Oversee technical evaluations, equipment specifications, and design compliance for Tier-1 electrical OEMs and SCADA integrators.
• Interface with power systems engineers, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and site commissioning teams to ensure AS/NZS compliance and grid code alignment.
Skills and Experience:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering (CPEng / NER highly regarded).
• 8+ years leading HV electrical infrastructure, substation design, secondary systems, or SCADA/automation scope on major infrastructure, rail/metro, or energy projects.
• Strong expertise in primary HV plant (substations, switchboards, transformers), secondary protection, SCADA architecture, and PLC/RTU protocols.
• Deep understanding of AS/NZS electrical standards, NSP connection requirements, and power system testing protocols.
