About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Administration & Drafting: Independently draft, negotiate, and manage complex head contracts and subcontracts, overseeing variations, notices, and progress claims
- Compliance & Systems: Proactively monitor contract compliance, track milestones, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records within the contract management system
- Procurement & Cost Control: Manage the procurement register, negotiate supply chain awards, establish project cash-flows, and implement effective cost control
- Risk & Conflict Management: Analyze construction risks, apply mitigation techniques, and actively manage dispute avoidance
- Stakeholder & Legal Liaison: Serve as the primary link between business stakeholders and legal counsel, facilitating clear communication and escalating complex legal issues when necessary
About you
- Qualifications & Experience: You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, backed by 7+ years of experience in a Commercial role within a large organization.
- Commercial & Technical Acumen: You possess sound commercial judgment and a strong working knowledge of construction law and turnkey construction contracts. You are highly competent with computer systems and bring a proven ability to review, develop, and streamline new processes and transactional activities.
- Communication & Drive: You demonstrate high levels of energy, initiative, and self-discipline. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you can effectively consult, engage, and negotiate with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Leadership & Teamwork: You actively listen, build positively on others' ideas, and foster an environment of shared knowledge and continuous improvement within your team. You display fairness and trust, and you work effectively and professionally as part of a collective unit.
