About the Role

As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of construction projects across building and infrastructure sectors. Working closely with project leadership and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing contractual obligations, driving commercial outcomes, mitigating risk and ensuring effective administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.

You will provide commercial support and guidance to project teams, while managing subcontractor relationships and contributing to the successful delivery of projects.

Specific activities will include:

  • Manage the administration of head contracts and subcontract agreements, including contractual correspondence, payment claims, variations, extensions of time, notices and claims.
  • Support procurement activities, subcontract negotiations and commercial reviews to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and financial performance, providing accurate commercial reporting and insights to project leadership.
  • Identify, assess and manage contractual, commercial and financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and negotiate variations, claims and commercial issues while ensuring alignment with contract requirements and project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support to Contracts Administrators and junior commercial team members.

 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in contract administration or commercial management roles within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction contracts across building, civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts, procurement processes and commercial principles.
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages, variations, claims and contractual negotiations.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across project teams and external stakeholders.
