About the role

DT Infrastructure are delivering the Wolseley Siding Upgrade Project, which involves constructing a new 3.0km rail spur. We are seeking an experienced Superintendent who will provide day to day management and supervision of the site-based workforce and carry our engineering and management duties delegated.

 

This role is a full-time position where you will be working on a 10:4 DIDO roster.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the day-to-day supervision and management of site-based rail and civil construction teams, ensuring safe, efficient and productive project delivery.
  • Coordinate project planning, workforce allocation, plant, materials and subcontractor resources to support the successful execution of works within approved budgets and schedules.
  • Provide technical and operational support across project activities, including site scoping, engineering issue resolution, risk identification and tender support.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and rail industry requirements through effective risk management, inspections, corrective actions and implementation of project plans and safe work practices.
  • Manage workforce performance and administration, including timesheet approvals, competency and certification requirements, leave management and ongoing team development.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and reports, monitoring progress, costs, quality outcomes and compliance with organisational standards and contractual requirements.

Experience and capabilities

  • Appropriate Track Safe Working Certification & / or ability to obtain.
  • Class C Driver’s License (preferred)
  • First Aid Training (preferred)
  • This position must be medically fit to perform rail maintenance duties and is classified as a Level One (1) High Level Safety Critical Worker under the National Railway Health Assessment Guidelines.
  • Experience of track, signaling and overhead wiring construction.
  • Strong experience in developing renewal methodology.
  • Supervisory experience of track activities.
  • Prior programming and planning experience of track works.
  • Management of large work forces on and off site.
