About the role
DT Infrastructure are delivering the Wolseley Siding Upgrade Project, which involves constructing a new 3.0km rail spur. We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer who will provide engineering, technical, quality support and other duties as delegated by the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager.
This role is a full-time position where you will be working on a 10:4 DIDO roster.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate engineering and construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership, engineering oversight, and project support, including design interpretation, construction methodology, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Manage quality assurance processes, including inspections, testing, audits, non-conformance management, and compliance documentation to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Support project planning, procurement, estimating, budgeting, subcontractor management, and business improvement initiatives to drive operational performance and project success.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project personnel by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-performance delivery.
- Promote and maintain strong health, safety, environmental, and rail compliance standards through proactive leadership, training, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience and capabilities
- Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Be a member of, or eligible to be a member of Engineers Australia
- Minimum of 5 Years engineering experience in the rail industry
- Minimum of 3 Years’ experience with developing and managing project schedules
- Demonstrable and successful experience in a business / project operations management role gained at similar level
- Demonstrated ability in proactively build relationships with key stakeholders and develop new business opportunities
