About the Role

DTI are currently seeking seasoned Project Directors with a proven track record in wind and solar farm construction to join our team. We have opportunities based in both Perth and Adelaide for upcoming renewable energy projects, with the expectation of being site based on project commencement.

The primary objective for the Project Director is to lead, plan, direct and control the design and construction of allocated project(s), to ensure completion in accordance with HSE objectives, client requirements and time and costs constraints to achieve profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of project delivery from site and team-setup to handover through the application of DTI Project Management tools and systems.
  • Develop and review construction planning and monitor progress of allocated projects to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates.
  • Regularly review and monitor project costs and take corrective action if significant deviations from budget occur.
  • Act as project sponsor for targeted projects. Contribute to tender submissions. Participate in tender evaluations and negotiation meetings.
  • Provide the leadership required to ensure the changes arising from the implementation of new strategies, policies/procedures and initiatives are effectively managed.
  • Develop a culture of personal accountability and create an environment that encourages and rewards successful performance.
  • Resource and develop an effective, appropriately skilled and empowered team able to deliver the required services and demand of the wider organisation. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Project management / engineering degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar position managing multiple renewable energy projects or similar level of renewable energy projects in value and complexity. Project(s) value >$150m.
  • A demonstrated history of implementing an effective and empowered organisational structure.
  • Management experience (general and operational) with capability to develop strategic / business / project  plans and delivery responsibility.
  • A good understanding of, and experience with, the business challenges impacting upon business in different life cycles (eg expanding, mature, declining or new market).
