Gamuda Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Safety Coordinators interested in joining our Sydney Metro Stations Package West (SPW) project, specifically based at our Westmead Station site.

This is an opportunity to become part of a major infrastructure project, working alongside an experienced project team to support the safe delivery of station construction works.

About the Role

Reporting to the project Safety team, you will play an important role in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring site activities are undertaken in accordance with project requirements, relevant legislation and Gamuda's safety standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day safety support and guidance to site personnel, subcontractors and project teams.

• Conducting site inspections, safety audits and workplace observations.

• Identifying hazards, assessing risks and assisting with the implementation of effective control measures.

• Monitoring compliance with WHS legislation, project safety plans and safe work procedures.

• Supporting incident investigations, reporting and corrective action close-out.

• Assisting with toolbox talks, safety inductions and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.

• Working collaboratively with construction teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Safety Coordinator or similar role within construction or major infrastructure projects.

• Experience working on large construction sites, preferably rail, transport, stations or civil infrastructure.

• A relevant WHS qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.

• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigation processes.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• A proactive, practical approach to identifying and managing workplace safety risks.

• The ability to build positive working relationships with site teams and subcontractors.
