About the role

 

We are seeking an initiative-taking, motivated, and self-driven Project Manager to oversee key infrastructure projects and ensure full adherence to project management methodologies. In this role, you will develop and implement Project Execution Plans to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client and company requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
  • HSE Culture & Leadership: Actively promoting a safety-first culture by leading toolbox talks, executing safety observations, performing risk management audits, and maintaining HSE compliance.
  • Commercial & Financial Control: Procuring resources, monitoring costs against budgets, establishing subcontractor and supplier arrangements, and minimizing contract claims.
  • Planning & Quality Assurance: Setting up baseline programs to track critical paths, coordinating countdown meetings and hour-by-hour shutdown plans during railway possessions, and managing lot closures and progressive handover.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strategic, positive onsite relationships with clients, sub-contractors, government authorities, and senior management

Experience and Capabilities

 

  • Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management. You must hold a valid driver’s license, be medically fit, and possess (or have the ability to obtain) an appropriate Track Safe Working Certification.
  • Professional Experience: Proven successful project management experience, alongside prior programming, planning, and infrastructure tendering experience.
  • People Leadership: Excellent supervisory and leadership abilities, with demonstrated experience managing a blue-collar workforce and leading teams in geographically dispersed locations. This includes solid conflict resolution and team motivation skills.
  • Technical & Financial Acumen: Strong risk and financial analysis skills, with the capability to interpret technical specifications, contract conditions, and commercial data.
  • Industry Knowledge: A sound understanding of mechanical and railway track operations.
  • Personal Attributes: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, an open and honest communication style, and the capacity to evaluate information quickly to make sound, practical decisions.
