Job Summary
The QAQC Manager leads the daily operations of the Quality Assurance and Document Control shared services in Malaysia supporting projects in Australia. This role ensures that all quality standards and the Integrated Management System (IMS) are strictly followed, while acting as the main link between the shared services hub and project stakeholders. The Manager is responsible for building a strong team by ensuring technical standards are met, leading the use of digital tools, and keeping productivity high to achieve seamless integration between remote and local project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Remote Integration
- Oversee the daily activities of the Malaysia-based Quality Assurance and Document Control Shared Services teams, coordinating daily with Quality and Document Control Managers in Australia to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Implement tools and practices that support remote collaboration, ensuring high productivity, accountability, and streamlined communication across virtual work environments.
- Oversee and manage a dual-reporting relationship, coordinating with the National Quality Document Control Manager and various Project Quality Managers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and high-quality service delivery.
QAQC Operations & Governance
- Drive and develop the implementation of the QMS across all departments and project sites, ensuring strict compliance with ISO 9001 and company IMS requirements while maintaining audit-ready documentation systems.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and quality campaigns, to assess process performance and ensure ongoing alignment with organizational quality objectives.
- Act as the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) superuser by providing training and technical assistance to project teams to ensure the effective adoption and utilization of ACC tools across all infrastructure projects.
- Identify and deliver specialized QAQC, Systems, and Document Control training for operational teams while preparing strategic reports and submissions for management and headquarters.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Foster the growth and professional development of team members through proactive coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure a high-standard service delivery.
- Support the resource planning of Quality and Document Control teams by identifying staffing needs, participating in the selection of talent, and managing the onboarding of resources to meet project demands.
- Manage the team’s performance and administrative needs, including following company policies, handling employee relations, and approving timesheets and leave requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
- Qualifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/ Internal Auditor) is an added advantage.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 19650, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies and action plans to achieve quality goals.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, document control systems, and compliance standards.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
- Minimum 10 years working experience in QAQC with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Proven experience managing large teams, preferably in a remote or multi-site environments.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, audit processes and continual improvement frameworks.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ISO-certified management systems.
