Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive IT Project Manager to lead the planning and supervision of IT infrastructure deployment within new construction and renovation projects. From inception to completion, you will serve as the bridge between Group IT standards and the Physical Construction team, ensuring every site is technically ready for operation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is comfortable navigating construction sites and coordinating with multi-disciplinary professionals. You will be responsible for the end-to-end readiness of Server Rooms, structured cabling, racking systems, and ISP services, ensuring all implementations are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

General

Plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects.

Track project performance periodically to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met.

Ensuring compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.

Ensuring projects comply with best practices and SOPs.

Break goals down into bite-sized pieces.

Product and services evaluation.

To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment standard in support to the company ESIG objective.

Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

 

Stakeholder Management

Liaising with stakeholders such as project personnel, vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements.

Team Management

 

Scope

Define project scope, goals and deliverables.

Implementing changes where necessary.

 

Cost

Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

 

Time

Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in IT, computer science, facility management, engineering, building management or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management experience as project leader in similar capacity.
  • Proven project and process management skillset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable in dealing with telco vendors, construction staff, network cabling vendor, health and safety officer etc.
  • Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Understanding of
    • IT standard and setup.
    • Structure Cabling System for UTP and Fiber.
    • Racking System.
  • Physical Demands
    • Access and mobility in tight spaces.
    • Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.

Added advantage

  • PMP or Prince2 certified.
  • CIDB certificate holder.
  • Both IT and business architecture design skillset.
  • Contract Management where necessary.
  • Relevant training and/or certification as a Project Manager.

Skills & Abilities

  • Willing to work on construction/renovation site for new office setup.
  • Understanding of structure cabling system and server room.
  • Understanding of the architecture of an office and LAN topology.
  • Ability to draw up detailed project plan, project schedule and communication plan.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Project and/or similar planning tools.
  • Ability to utilize project management tools such as risk register, issue log and risk register.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues and solutions to business language.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and demanding conditions/complexities.
  • Ability to develop well-structured presentations with informative and well-presented information appropriate for the desired audience.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Project or proficient in other project management software.

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

•    Minimum 3 years of project management and infrastructure setup experience as project leader in similar capacity.

1. Site Readiness: Oversee the setup of IT Rooms, Cabling Systems, Internet Connectivity and Network Infra to facilitate seamless IT implementation.
2. Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between IT, contractors, and construction teams to drive project milestones.
3. On-Site Management: Travel to various project locations for technical discussions, quality inspections, and real-time project tracking to mitigate risks.
4. Project Governance: Manage project timelines and budgets while minimizing complications through analytical risk assessment.
5. Standards Compliance: Ensure all site works strictly adhere to Group IT infrastructure procedures and technical specifications.
