Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Sustainability Unit to provide support, solutions and results in integrating sustainable practices for infrastructure and building projects, across all phases of project development, ensuring compliance with regulations and conformance to industry standards, and contributing to our mission of responsible and sustainable construction practices. The role shall require close collaboration with the project teams in strategizing, implementing and monitoring sustainability initiatives. This involves executing strategies that promote environmental, social, governance and economic sustainability including in engineering areas. The Assistant Manager shall also assist in managing and resolving ad-hoc issues particularly those which involve sustainability, decarbonisation, climate change, environment, biodiversity, community, and associated fields. Efficiency, commitment, confidentiality, honesty and integrity are crucial along with a commitment towards achieving net positive sustainable outcome for the projects undertaken with a passion towards the environment, wildlife, cultures and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sustainability Risk Assessment: Assist in identifying risks and opportunities across areas of environmental, social, governance and economics within infrastructure and building projects, including GHG emissions, climate change, and environmental & social impacts.
  • Sustainability Risk Mitigation: Assist in the formulation and management of sustainability action within infrastructure and building projects to address potential impacts identified for the design, construction and operation activities. This includes planning and implementing mitigation measures for sensitive areas such as decarbonisation, climate adaptation and resilience, biodiversity, cultures and communities which may involve renewable energy, climate resilient integration, conservation and social impact management.
  • Sustainability Integration: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's sustainability policies, management plans and procedures for infrastructure and building projects. This will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate sustainability into across all phases of project development including project design, construction and operation activities.
  • Technical Support & Communication: Assist in collecting, analysing and interpreting data related to sustainability metrics and project performance including reports and presentations on sustainability-related findings and recommendations.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, sustainability, environmental science and/or similar qualifications.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis software (e.g., Excel)
  • Proficiency in engineering tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

Has minimum five (5) years in infrastructure or building development projects.
