Job Summary

A key leadership role in managing the technical design process for precast concrete elements. This includes overseeing the production of shop drawings, managing 3D BIM modeling workflows, and ensuring effective coordination with consultants and stakeholders. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and an in-depth understanding of precast construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design Management

  • Oversee and coordinate the preparation of precast shop drawings, ensuring accuracy, buildability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Review and approve drawings and models developed in Allplan and Revit, ensuring quality control across all design outputs.
  • Manage design timelines and deliverables to meet project milestones.

BIM & Digital Engineering

  • Lead BIM execution for precast components, ensuring proper integration with architectural, structural, and MEP models.
  • Oversee clash detection processes and ensure timely resolution of coordination issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of BIM standards and workflows within the team.

Consultant & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary liaison with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors on design-related matters.
  • Lead design coordination meetings and drive resolution of design and technical issues.
  • Ensure all RFIs and design changes are properly documented and communicated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Professional Engineering License or membership in relevant institutions is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Allplan, Revit, and BIM coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360).
  • Solid understanding of precast production methods, construction processes, and structural detailing.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards for precast concrete.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under tight deadlines.

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in precast concrete design and detailing.
  • Proven experience managing a design team and delivering large-scale precast projects.
