About the role
We are currently hiring a Community & Stakeholder Manager to join DT Infrastructure and Alstom in delivering the $1.6B contract for Perth's High Capacity Signalling Project. The project includes the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the new Automatic Train Control System to replace the existing signalling and train control systems in Perth. Based out of the CBD project office, the primary objective of this position is to promote best practice communications to external stakeholders and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for communications and engagement across the delivery of Projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensure efficient frameworks and foster a genuine two-way information flow between the client and the project team.
- Work proactively with the client on issues, collaborate on solutions and continuous improvement, provide regular reporting and meet information sharing requirements.
- Management of communications, engagement programs, social media, media and marketing strategies, including process and collateral that focuses on the long-term benefits and genuine support for the project.
- Manage the handling of enquiries and complaints in line with the enquiry and complaint procedure.
- Work with the project management team to identify and assist in the management of risks, opportunities and project related issues and develop strategies to address these.
- Ensure stakeholder and community issues are dealt with in a proactive and efficient manner to enhance the project, minimise issues and resolve community concerns.
- Work closely with the technical streams to ensure known stakeholder requirements are proactively considered when developing program sequencing, design and construction methodology and operations and maintenance interfaces.
- Oversee budget and management of suppliers, for the implementation of community involvement and business activation activities.
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing communications plans involving community consultation and engagement within major construction
- Well-developed verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills including consultative communications skills
- Experience in a similar level position, construction/rail industry sector experience is highly advantageous
