About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring consistent environmental performance across the Goulburn River Solar Farm project. This is a site based on a 2:1 roster.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct ongoing risk management and hazard identification processes.
- Complying with any regulations or statutory obligations for environmental management.
- Be familiar with and implementing the requirements of the Client’s CEMP, as required.
- Assisting in the preparation of the Project Risk Register and the environmental induction of project personnel.
- Providing direct project day to day support – toolbox meetings, inspections, INX entry, risk control advice, Project meetings, record management, SWMS, site work instructions.
- Client Sustainability Reporting (ISCA etc.) and Internal Sustainability Reporting (Waste management, GHG, energy, etc)
- Directing the workforce (in consultation with the Project Manager) to stop work to achieve compliance with the environmental requirements of the head contract, as covered in the CEMP and applicable sub-plans, or to prevent environmental damage.
Experience and capabilities:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role (infrastructure construction preferred).
- Knowledge of relevant environmental, occupational health and safety and other legislation (subordinate and primary).
- Well-developed knowledge relating to the maintenance of Quality Systems (ISO9001).
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Relevant experience working with contaminated land and emerging contaminants(preferred but not essential).
