Officer - Database & SAP Basis

Job Summary

A Senior Executive in SAP Basis typically oversees and manages the technical infrastructure and operations of SAP systems within an organization. The position also assists in coordinating maintenance and enhancement efforts to leverage enterprise resources, knowledge, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the SAP infrastructure planning & execution prior, during and post project.
• Provide SAP technical knowledge bridging technology to business needs effectively.
• Knowledge transfer to internal team.
• Manages business challenges on segregating infrastructure and database for sensitive projects.
• Security Administration: Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard SAP systems and data, including user access controls, role assignments, and security patches and updates.
• Role Design and Maintenance: SAP Basis professionals are responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining role templates and profiles within the SAP system. This involves defining roles based on job functions, such as finance, HR, or logistics, and assigning appropriate authorizations to each role to enable users to perform their tasks.
• User Management: SAP Basis professionals manage user accounts within the SAP system, including creating new user accounts, modifying existing accounts, and deactivating or deleting accounts when necessary. They also handle password policies and user authentication mechanisms to enhance system security.
• Authorization Testing and Compliance: They perform regular authorization checks and audits to ensure that users' access rights align with organizational policies and compliance requirements. This involves reviewing user roles, authorizations, and access logs to identify any unauthorized or inappropriate activities and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Manages integration of solution(s) into enterprise technical architecture and business environment
• Emergency Access Management: SAP Basis professionals may be responsible for managing emergency access procedures, such as granting temporary elevated privileges to users for troubleshooting or critical system maintenance activities. They ensure that emergency access is properly controlled, monitored, and documented to mitigate security risks.
• Responsible for end user experience in connectivity to SAP applications.
• Able to manage bash scripts, basic Linux commands and logic.
• Manage digitalization and integration of email communication from SAP systems, SMS, printers, and other communication channels.

Qualifications

A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.

Expected Minimum Years of Experience

At least 5 years of working experience in managing SAP Basis and Infrastructure.
