We are now seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide engineering, technical, and quality support, as well as other duties as delegated by the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager, on our Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) Project, located in Ormeau, Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Take collective responsibility (with the management team) for development and review of initiatives/plans and implementation to support the Rail Infrastructure Blue Sheet and Strategy Map, and understand and support the relationship with Group plans. 
  • Support the identification, development and delivery of opportunities for growth. 
  • Undertake Engineering inspections of temporary and permanent works and analyse data as required.
  • Investigate, analyse and write reports on Incidents, non-compliances and safe working irregularities, etc. by staff and contractors.
  • Carry out Project Manager’s duties in his absence or when he is not available including arranging staff to attend emergency works after hours.
  • Interpret designs for construction implementation and contribute to improvements to existing designs.
  • Execute a comprehensive working knowledge of construction engineering and Australian / International standards.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with time, budget and quality requirements.

Qualifications

 

  • Must have a Minimum of 5 Years of engineering experience in the civil engineering. 
  • Must have a Minimum of 3 Years’ experience with developing and managing project schedules.
  • Experienced and able to prepare and analyse tenders and estimates.
  • Demonstrable and successful experience in a business/project operations management role gained at a similar level.
  • Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement business solutions.
  • Strong experience in developing tender documentation.
  • Prior Project Engineering experience.
