 THE ROLE

Reporting to the project Manager we are seeking a dynamic Senior Project Engineer with experience in buildings services and structures to join our team on a major Rail maintenance facility and stabling yard construction project based in Ormeau, Queensland. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and supportive team delivering critical infrastructure solutions.

You will play a key role in overseeing and managing the delivery of building services installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of building services within the rail facility.

Key Responsibilities

•    Plan, coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with time, budget and quality requirements
•    Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards, including the National Construction Code (NCC).
•    Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure timely and quality delivery of works.
•    Preparation of progress and compliance reporting
•    Coordinate and supervise technical aspects of the project
•    Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports 
•    Verification of subcontractors' claims and variations 
•    Effective management of work programs and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes
•    Work closely with the project team to identify and mitigate risks.
•    Conduct site inspections and monitor progress against schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

•    Degree Qualified, with proven experience in building services (electrical, mechanical, hydraulics) within large scale infrastructure projects.
•    Strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and other relevant regulations.
•    Previous experience working on Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) QLD or Queensland Rail (QR) projects is highly regarded.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Effective communication and leadership skills.
•    Strong knowledge of safety and compliance requirements within the construction industry.
