Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Senior Digital Engineer. The Senior Digital Engineer is a mid-senior role for the delivery of the Digital Engineering scope across Projects. This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of Digital Engineering components; acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Digital Engineering discipline across the Engineering lifecycle including but not limited to; Building Information Modelling, Geospatial Information Systems, Project Information Model, Asset Information Model, and System Information Modelling.
This position supports our Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) Project, located in Ormeau, Queensland. Applicants must reside in close proximity to the project location.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects in a cost effective, innovative, quality focussed and timely manner.
- A team lead within Engineering for the Digital, System, Asset and Building Information Modelling, and Geospatial Data Management in the delivery of design, construction, commissioning and handover phases of medium to large scale engineering projects.
- Participate in the tendering and quotation process.
- Building Information Modelling related governance such as establishing folder structures, equipment types and their metadata fields in accordance with Asset Information Model requirements.
- Collaborate with other Digital Engineering functions such as BIM and GIS.
- Manage / engineer the delivery of Asset Information Models.
- Monitor engineering design and coordinate the resolution of issues such as technical queries.
- Participate in the design approval process.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
- Understand design compliance, reporting processes and coordinate them.
- Ensure safety and quality requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Exceptional experience practice as an engineer. Previous experience a must.
- Experience in day to day management of design/modelling team, mentoring and task allocation.
- Instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering, and design technical leaders to create opportunities to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects.
- Authoring of digital engineering execution plans in liaison with the coordinators and design lead, ensuring the Employer’s Exchange Information Requirements are met at all times as well as ensuring models’ compliance with the Project and/or BIM standards, methods and procedures.
- Extensive working experience with BIM projects using BIM software (Revit, Civil3D, 12-D, Infraworks, BIM360, ProjectWise etc).
- Proven experience with various digital engineering platforms in an engineering environment is essential.
- Design from engineering drawings and documents from Civil, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines in various inputs such as sketches, CAD, PDF formats.
- Relational databases in the context of system, asset and building information.
- Delivering projects using CAD and BIM software including the associated standards.
- Activity Exchange and its use for project delivery.
