About the role

This is a key leadership opportunity to join DT Infrastructure’s Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) team at the Ormeau Rail Facility.

As Health and Safety Manager, you will provide strategic leadership, expert guidance and operational support to drive a strong safety culture across this major rail infrastructure project. Working closely with project leadership, delivery teams and subcontractors, you will be responsible for embedding DTI’s health and safety systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and championing continuous improvement across all aspects of project delivery.

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role on one of Queensland’s most significant transport infrastructure programs while influencing project outcomes at both a strategic and operational level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of DTI’s health and safety systems across the QTMP project
  • Provide expert HSE leadership and guidance to project teams, subcontractors and leadership stakeholders
  • Drive compliance with WHS legislation, DTI standards and industry best practice
  • Lead audits, incident investigations, risk management initiatives and corrective actions
  • Build a proactive safety culture through workforce engagement, coaching and performance improvement
  • Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and provide reporting to support project decision-making

About you

  • Significant HSE leadership experience within construction, infrastructure, rail or other high-risk project environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, risk management and management systems
  • Proven experience leading audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, operational teams and subcontractors at all levels
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications, with Lead Auditor / ICAM highly regarded
  • A practical, proactive leadership style with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
