About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Coordinator to join the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) at the Ormeau Rail Facility.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the implementation of DT Infrastructure's Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment (HSSE) systems across one of Queensland's largest rail infrastructure projects. Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and project leadership, you'll help drive compliance, coach frontline teams and contribute to a proactive safety culture.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging HSE professional looking to build their career on a major infrastructure project while working alongside an experienced and supportive Health & Safety team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of DT Infrastructure's HSSE management systems, policies and project initiatives
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and field observations while assisting with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coach project teams and subcontractors on safety requirements, risk management and compliance with project procedures
  • Assist with site inductions, training, incident reporting, investigations and safety communications
  • Monitor project safety performance, analyse trends and prepare reports for project leadership
  • Support injury management, return to work processes and ongoing compliance with legislative requirements

About You

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety, WHS, Business or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator or Advisor role within construction, infrastructure or a similar industry
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and safety management systems
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations and safety reporting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours
