About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) at the Ormeau Rail Facility.
This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for driving environmental compliance, sustainability performance and continuous improvement across one of Queensland's largest rail infrastructure projects. Working closely with project leadership, operational teams, clients, regulators and key stakeholders, you will provide strategic environmental guidance while ensuring the project meets all legislative, contractual and environmental obligations.
This role offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes from planning through delivery, leading environmental strategy and sustainability initiatives on a nationally significant transport infrastructure program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with project approvals, legislation and client requirements
- Manage the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), sustainability initiatives and environmental management systems across the project
- Provide technical environmental leadership, risk management advice and support to project teams and stakeholders
- Lead environmental audits, inspections, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage environmental reporting, regulatory approvals and stakeholder engagement while driving sustainability performance
- Mentor project teams and foster a proactive culture of environmental compliance and sustainability excellence
About You
- Extensive experience leading environmental and sustainability functions within major construction, infrastructure or transport projects
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing environmental management plans and sustainability strategies
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while building strong relationships with clients, regulators and project stakeholders
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline
- A strategic leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering positive environmental outcomes
