About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) team in Queensland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role on one of Queensland’s largest and most significant rail infrastructure programs, supporting environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and best practice systems across project delivery.
Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients, you will provide hands-on environmental support across site operations, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, project environmental management plans and sustainability objectives. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive positive environmental outcomes across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of environmental and sustainability systems across the QTMP project.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessments to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and project obligations.
- Coordinate environmental reporting, sustainability metrics, waste management tracking and client reporting requirements including ISCA-related activities.
- Provide day-to-day project support including toolbox talks, SWMS reviews, inductions, inspections and environmental guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders while promoting continuous improvement and best practice environmental outcomes.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil, rail or major construction projects in an environmental or sustainability-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance obligations, environmental management systems and ISO standards.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills with the ability to influence positive project outcomes.
- Proactive, adaptable and team-oriented professional who can work autonomously in a fast-paced project environment.
