We are excited to announce an opportunity available in Ormeau, South Queensland, for our QTMP project. We are seeking an Environmental Advisor. In this role, the Environmental Advisor will report Environmental and Sustainability Manager.

The Advisor will provide professional and qualified advice to project managers and construction teams. Additionally, they will support key site environment and HSE personnel. A particular emphasis will be placed on personnel responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental conditions requirements related to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Review and improve the projects and contractor’s Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for construction activities 
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance.
  • Implement environmental monitoring programs (e.g. water, air, noise, waste, soil movement registers).
  • Maintain accurate databases, records, and regulatory reporting.
  • Investigate and respond to environmental incidents in line with HSSE procedures.
  • Deliver environmental inductions and training for staff and contractors.
  • Propose innovative improvement programs that are cost-effective and appropriate for the current business climate.
  • Management of data and registers for compliance and sustainability purposes.
  • Day to day field inspections and effectively working closely with ground supervisors to ensure compliance with management plans and site initiatives or instruct on DTI requirements.

Qualifications

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Management or similar
  • Proven experience in a project/site based Environmental Management role
  • Working knowledge of contamination management and ERSED principles as related to infrastructure construction
  • Data management proficiency
