About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Rail Operations Manager (East) to join our national rail division. The Rail Operations Manager (East) is responsible for the day to day running and P&L of a regional Rail multi-disciplinary revenue business unit to ensure that all works being delivered are in accordance with Client and DTI requirements in terms of scope, cost and program management, ensuring that HSQE is maintained and promoted at all stages of works being delivered.

The Rail Operations Manager (East) is responsible for all line management and training and development requirements of the multi-disciplinary team of Project Managers, Engineers and Support Functions under their control.
 

Experience and capabilities

• Proven track record in a leadership/operations role in the Rail Industry successfully demonstrating effective cost management business growth via effective staff and client relationship management.
• Relevant Engineering Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience in leading large teams in diverse geographic locations.
• Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with stakeholders and developing new business opportunities.
• Able to work with precontracts team to assist in developing tender documentation.
• Proven management skills (e.g. financial and business acumen; conducting performance reviews; and developing training plans for staff to reach their full potential).
• Understanding of commercial conditions relating to contract management, valuations, industrial environment.
• Understanding and ability to interpret technical specifications and financial data and reports.
• Able to evaluate information quickly, identifying key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense.
